This might be the greatest news for auto technology at all. Genepax (the name of Japan Company) made it happen by bringing to life the first car that works on simple water.
The system is called Water Energy System and the key to the system is its membrane electrode assembly (MEA), which contains materials that are capable of breaking down hydrogen and oxygen from water through a chemical reaction and get power for car from that process.
For the moment the system installed in this car (MEA) costs about ¥2,000,000 (or about $18,000 - car is not included in the price) but company hopes that very soon they could start mass production and the price would drop to about $4,500-5,000 per system.
And here we have a nice video with the car in action (courtesy of Reuters).

Mobile phone that controls your car?
Yep that's true, we're getting such a mobile in the very near future. It's about a new Audi Phone that comes with a new Audi A1 car. It's not a news anymore to hear about Auto companies that integrate Mobile Phones into their cars, we had Renault Nokia Twingo before and now we're dealing with audi too.
The Audi Phone actually has more functions than any integrated Auto Mobile Phone before. It has plain design and only 3 buttons (call, end and menu key in the middle) and touchscreen display, and supports 3G functionality and Wi-Fi. It is more intended as take-care-over-the-car device with functions as: keyless entry, heating/cooling, navigation input, audio/video. Other very important function is security concerned, like interim warnings of an intruder's break-in, as the phone is wirelessly linked with the car all the time. If an intruder tries to break into your car, the integrated inside camera takes a snapshot and sends directly to your mobile so you can have a pretty looking face of your intruder, and if he tries to run away with the car the system will automatically activate the tracking function.
The first Mobile phone enabled car will be Audi A1.

Space Shuttle or Car?
The brand new "Nissan Pivo 2" reminds us of scifi movies of late 90's, except it cannot fly.
The new Pivo that will be shown to public on Oct. 27, is actually a electro-car which can be charged in regular home socket and driven for about 78 Miles for a single charge. The cabin can be rotated into 360 degrees so drivers can turn to face whichever direction they want, and the wheels can be rotated at 90 degrees to help you parking your car. The interesting thing in pivo is, that it owns a robotic function, which can detect your mood, and try to make you happier with some preprogrammed phrases.
